Frequently asked questions:

Through the chosen retraining, you can get a Czech language course completely free of charge. Simply register with the Employment Service as a job applicant or job seeker and submit an application for the chosen retraining.

The regular prices are 8,900 CZK (M1), 17,900 CZK (M2) and 21,900 CZK (M3). With the support of the ÚP through the chosen retraining, you can get an M2 or M3 course for 0 CZK.

Payment for the chosen retraining is not a claim – the Labour Office assesses each application individually. Therefore, correct argumentation and justification of the need for the course are key. ICJ will help you with this.

  • Even if you completed a Czech language retraining course(s) before the new criteria came into effect, the Labour Office will unfortunately not be able to offer you another Czech language course.
  • The number of remaining funds is limited, therefore, when approving applications, the Labor Office will give priority to applicants who have not yet taken any Czech language courses from the Labor Office of the Czech Republic.
  • The Labor Office will now give priority to supporting people who have education in fields with a shortage of labor in the Czech Republic, or people who want to retrain in these fields.
  • These include work in healthcare, social services, education, construction or technical fields. Priority professions may vary by region depending on the current needs of the local labor market.
  • If you do not fall into the priority professions, this does not mean that you will not be able to get the course. You can get it if, after ensuring support for people in priority professions in your region, there are funds left over to support people in other fields.

No! You can be employed and register as a “job seeker”. The course will help you improve your position on the job market.

The Office of the Ombudsman has up to 30 days to review the application. Therefore, it is important to submit the application well in advance.

If you do not complete the course without a valid reason, you will have to pay the costs. Therefore, it is important to choose a suitable date and be prepared to complete the course.

The limit of CZK 50,000 for 3 years applies to each person separately. Spouses can therefore each use their own limit. However, for language courses in 2026, the condition applies that you can only use the support for 1 language course..

  • The maximum level of financial support for retraining from the Labour Office of the Czech Republic is still set at 50 thousand crowns per person.
  • At this time, however, due to high interest and a limited budget for Czech language retraining courses, the Labor Office will only provide one language course per person – so that the support reaches as many foreigners who need it as possible.
  • At the same time, the possibility of using support for multiple courses remains – for example, one Czech language retraining course and professional retraining.
  • You cannot automatically obtain it because retraining is generally not entitlement-based. This means that it is tied to the principles of efficiency and economy.
  • The labor office needs to know that a specific retraining will help you find a job or improve your current job, and then decides on approval based on that.
  • During the entrance interview at the Labour Office of the Czech Republic, the advisor for the Integration of Foreigners project will ask you about your work motivation and your idea of how you will use the acquired knowledge in your career.

Yes, you can. retraining course pay as a self-payer or choose a more comprehensive course from our ICJ language schools, where you will also receive a certificate of the achieved level.
