Employment Office funding renewed!!! – Check the current conditions for 2026/27:

Czech language training with support from the Labour Office? Find out what your options are for 2026/2027!

Better Czech can open the door to a new job. The Labor Office CZ may also be able to help fund your course.

Would you like to communicate more confidently in Czech, find a better job or return to your previous profession? Financial support may still be available for selected Czech language retraining courses. However, the approval rules have changed, and every application is now assessed individually.

At the Institute of Foreign Languages (ICJ), we can help you choose a suitable course, understand the current requirements and prepare the necessary documents.

Which Czech courses can you take?

ICJ offers three progressive Czech language retraining courses accredited by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic (MŠMT).

Practise Czech in class and in conversations with others.

Course materials and worksheets help you build on what you’ve learned.
M1 · Beginners

Start learning Czech from the very beginning

If you’re just starting to learn Czech, M1 is an ideal first step. You can take it online or in person. At the moment, students pay for this course themselves because the Labor Office CZ does not cover the basic M1 course.

After successfully completing the course, you’ll receive a certificate that may help you meet the entry requirements for the next course.

M2 · Follow-on course

Improve your Czech, with funding potentially available

Already know some Czech and want to improve your job prospects? M2 helps you build communication skills for work and everyday life.

You can apply to have this course covered by the Labor Office CZ. Approval depends on meeting the current requirements and an individual assessment of your application.

M3 · More advanced course

Take your Czech to the next level

Need Czech for a more skilled job, communication with an employer or a return to your profession? M3 is designed for more advanced learners.

Individual funding through the Labor Office CZ may also be available for this course, but the requirements are stricter.

Who can receive financial support?

The Labor Office CZ will consider, among other things, whether completing the course could help you:

  • find a new job,
  • keep your current job,
  • gain further qualifications,
  • return to your profession, or
  • integrate more successfully into the Czech job market.

Your employment situation, previous Czech language studies, any retraining courses you have already received funding for and the current requirements of your local Labor Office CZ branch are all relevant.

Funding is not automatic. The Labor Office CZ alone decides on each application. Always check the current process and requirements before applying.

When should you start preparing?

We are provisionally planning to run the next M2 and M3 retraining courses in January 2027. If you’re interested in funding through the Labor Office CZ, we recommend starting the application process one to three months in advance.
