Applying to the Labor Office CZ? You don’t have to do it alone.

Want to learn Czech and apply for retraining support? At ICJ, we’ll explain the process in clear, everyday language, help with the paperwork and prepare the documents provided by the school. You can focus on your goal: better Czech and new opportunities at work.

Important: M1 (online and in person) is self-funded. For selected M2 and M3 courses, you can apply for funding through the Labor Office CZ. Only the Labor Office CZ can approve an application—ICJ does not approve applications and cannot guarantee funding.
Our support goes beyond just signing up for a course.

We’ll help you find your way, one step at a time. No need to worry.

Dealing with public offices in another language can be challenging. We’ll explain everything clearly, show you which documents you may need and stay available if questions come up. We’ll also be clear about the steps you need to take yourself.

  • Any additional requirements you may need to meet.

The ICJ cannot influence the final decision.

A good, stress-free start

First, we’ll make sure you know what to expect.

A retraining application involves more than one form. You’ll need to choose the right course, show your current Czech level and explain how the course can help you at work.

Our approach: honest information and practical support, not empty promises.

Simple Guide

Eight steps to apply – and support at every stage

From your first consultation to the start of your course, we’ll walk you through the process and explain what each party is responsible for.

01

Choose the right course together

We’ll discuss your current Czech level, work goals and whether you’d prefer online or in-person classes. We’ll explain the entry requirements for M2 and M3 and help you understand which language documents may be needed.

What’s important: You tell us what you need; we recommend the appropriate next step.

02

We’ll help you understand Labor Office CZ registration

To apply for support, you need to be registered with the Labor Office CZ as a jobseeker or someone interested in employment. We’ll explain the difference, point you to the official information and help you prepare for registration.

Important: You are responsible for completing the registration and any necessary personal formalities. While we can explain the process to you, we do not act as the Labour Office, nor can we register you without the appropriate authorization.

03

We’ll prepare the documents together

We’ll provide the documents issued by ICJ, including a price confirmation. We’ll go through the list of attachments, explain the “Interest in a Selected Retraining Course” form and help check that your application is clear and complete.

Important: You provide accurate personal information and documents; you submit the application yourself.

04

We’ll help explain why you need Czech at work

Together, we’ll explain how better Czech can help you find or keep a job. If you’re employed, we’ll tell you what an employer’s confirmation may need to include.

Important: The confirmation is issued by the employer and must reflect the actual facts.

05

Submit your application with a clear plan

We’ll show you the steps and deadlines, remind you what to check before submitting and help you understand any request for more documents. We recommend applying at least 30 days before the course starts.

Important: You are responsible for submitting the application to the Labour Office; you must also keep track of the submission and any subsequent communication with the Labour Office.

06

We’ll help you prepare for an interview

We can practise common questions with you: what kind of job you’re looking for, what you find difficult in Czech and why you need this course.

Important: During meetings with the Labour Office, you answer on your own behalf and provide information about your actual circumstances.

07

We’ll explain the decision and what happens next

The Labor Office CZ assesses each application individually. If it asks for additional documents, we’ll help explain what’s needed and prepare the school documents. If your application is approved, we’ll help you arrange the practical details of starting the course.

Important: The decision to approve or reject an application rests solely with the Labour Office. We cannot guarantee a positive outcome in advance.

08

We’ll support you during your studies, too

Before classes begin, we’ll explain attendance, exams and the course agreement. We’ll remind you to meet your Labor Office CZ requirements, check your messages and report important changes.

Important: You are responsible for your attendance, meeting study requirements, and communicating with the Labour Office (ÚP); if anything is unclear, feel free to contact us.
Allow enough time: For a chosen retraining course, the Labor Office CZ recommends submitting your application at least 30 days before the course starts. It’s best to apply earlier so there’s time to provide any additional documents. You can only start a course funded by the Labor Office CZ after the funding has been approved.
Practical Information

What should you prepare? We’ll make it clear.

You don’t need to memorise the whole list now. During a consultation, we’ll help you sort out which documents come from ICJ, which you need to provide and what else the Labor Office CZ may ask for.

Documents and information for your application

  • “Interest in a Selected Retraining Course” form.
  • Confirmation from ICJ with the course price and details.
  • Proof of your previous Czech level, if requested.
  • Information about your education and work experience.
  • An explanation of how Czech can help you find or keep a job.
  • A letter from your employer, if relevant.
  • Depending on your situation, documents related to the recognition of foreign qualifications.

Your local Labor Office CZ will confirm the exact list of documents. An ICJ language assessment may not replace proof required by the Labor Office CZ.

We’ll explain everything before you sign

The process includes an agreement to take part in the retraining course. Before you sign, we’ll explain the course length, attendance requirements, final exam and situations in which you may have to pay for the course.

Administrative fee: ICJ’s internal information says a one-off fee of CZK 300 is payable when signing the agreement. We’ll confirm the amount and payment terms in advance.

Practical Information

We help with the paperwork. The Labor Office CZ decides on funding.

ICJ can explain the process, prepare documents issued by the school, help you understand the forms and guide you along the way. This does not mean that we represent the Labor Office CZ, guarantee approval or submit the application for you.

The Labor Office CZ assesses your work goals, previous retraining, Czech level and the value of the course for your career. In 2026, its official information prioritises certain professions and limits support for language retraining. Check the current requirements with the Labor Office CZ before applying.
