About the Program and the Instructor
This program combines the world of art, nature exploration, and the joy of English. Children will not only learn the language but use it through creating, playing, and discovering the world around them. The goal is to awaken their creativity and imagination, strengthen their relationship with nature, and show them that even a city can be a large gallery. Each day, they will try different artistic techniques, and at the end of the week, they will organize their own exhibition.
The program will be led by instructor Katrin Pirai, a creative soul with a degree in art education from Charles University. Katrin can awaken a love for art and languages in children. Her approach is playful and supportive – she focuses on allowing children to create freely, without fear of mistakes, and to build confidence in presenting their own works. Thanks to her experience with children and pedagogical education, young artists can look forward to a week full of inspiration and fun.
Age Categories:

6–12 years old
Location:

ICJ Campus, Kolbenova, Prague (the program also includes trips to the park and themed city walks)
Program:

The program is designed to develop artistic skills, communication in English, and teamwork. Each day focuses on a different theme and technique.
Sample Weekly Structure:
•Monday: Who am I?
We will get to know each other through games, create our own art journals, and make a self-portrait in the style of “me as a superhero.” We will also build our own gallery, which we will fill with our works throughout the week.
•Tuesday: Nature as a gallery
We will go to the park, where we will draw en plein air and observe shapes and colors around us. Using collected natural materials, we will create original collages in the classroom.
•Wednesday: Playing with colors
We will experiment with watercolors, paints, and various materials. We will try painting to music and make our own brushes from twigs and grass.
•Thursday: The city as inspiration
We will explore the city streets, looking for interesting details, ornaments, and rhythms to sketch in our notebooks. Then we will build a model of our own city together.
•Friday: Our exhibition!
We will end the week with a big celebration. We will prepare an exhibition of our best works, create English labels, and invite others to our first exhibition, where each young artist will present their work and receive a diploma.
