Charity event: a holiday in support of children from Ukraine

Date: April 17, 2022

Number of participants: over 7,000 people in

as part of the implementation of a large-scale charity event “Children’s Day” in support of families and children from among refugees who were forced to leave Ukraine as a result of a military conflict.

The program of the event

About 200 candidates took part in the preparatory programs, of which about 150 were later admitted to Czech universities to study in English and Czech (75% of the admissions success).

The importance of the event
The main goal was to give children joy, a sense of security and allow them at least for a while to forget about the difficult situation in which you found yourself. The successful event with great participation has confirmed that such projects are vital for the integration and support of families being saved from the war.

In January 2025, a new branch of the International Court of Justice was opened in Brno. This step is a significant expansion of the coverage of the South Moravian region and increasing the accessibility of language education for foreigners in the region.

First course – intensive Czech A1
27. In January 2025, the branch accepted the first students. Czech language courses are held with the financial support of the Czech Labor Office in the mode provided by retraining, which allows participants to attend classes for free.

Importance
The opening of the branch in Brno and the first successfully completed courses confirmed the need and importance of the International Court of Justice to disseminate knowledge outside Prague. The department strengthens support for the integration of foreigners in the South Moravian region and is an important milestone in the development of the organization.

ICJ Casting Day Contest 

a challenge for current, graduates and future ICJ clients who want to be creative in telling their story andTo connect it with experience, benefits or memories of Czech courses and training in ICJ.

The purpose of the competition:

  • promote storytelling in English (in real context),
  • develop presentation and digital skills (camera, editing, subtitles),
  • to strengthen the ICJ community and mutual inspiration of students,
  • Create an authentic video library for learning and motivation.

In addition to the main prizes, the jury awarded individual awards, and the contestants were also added a price for the public by voting on social networks ICJ.

The importance of the competition
The project showed that ICJ students perceive English as a journey full of trials, inspiration and joy from. The competition brought not only new experience and space for creative self-expression, but at the same time strengthened the public dimension of the school – participantsRelated in groups, they share ideas and mutually support each other.

Accreditation, inclusion in the register of schools and exams in the state language

1 day. September 2015, Institute of Foreign Languages, p. r. o. (ICJ) is officially included in the register of schools of the Ministry of Education and has received permission to conduct teaching, preparatory courses and the state language exam. ICJ / 2004 Coll. (Law on Education) and Decree 33/2005 SB.

The main advantages of accreditation:

  • confirms the quality and examination of educational programs,

  • gives permission for the organization of language courses and retraining,

  • allows for state language testing,

  • Increases prestige and trust in the Czech education system

State English Exam (SJZ)
ICJ conducts SJZ from the Czech language twice a year within the time limits set by the Ministry of Education.
Test characteristics: Achieving the level of B2 in English allows you to continue your education, increases chances in the labor market and promotes integration.
Certificate: Successful candidates will receive a certificate of passing the language test adopted in the Czech Republic.

Adaptation of the group for children of foreigners in Ukraine (0019/17/UKR_AS2/2022)

The purpose of the project:
To support children and schoolchildren from Ukraine, who during the war had to leave their homes, while adapting to the new school environment, to strengthen their communication in English and facilitate their integration into Czech culture. Education system.

Main activities: creation and functioning of adaptive groups for school-age children; intensive teaching of English as a second; Educational and leisure activities aimed at orientation in the Czech environment and the establishment of social mediaconnections; Constant cooperation with schools and legal representatives.

Professional psychosocial support and related services:
Targeted support for children and mothers who escaped to war – with adaptation at school, work with emotions and reduce stress. individual and group counseling, crisis intervention and anxiety work, support groups for mothers and children’s clubs, including school support, in cooperation with teachers.

The result of the project: 300 children aged 3 to 16 received support.

Adaptation of the group for children of foreigners migrating from Ukraine 0054/14/UKR_AS/2023 (N: MIN-31306/2022-2)

The purpose of the project is

  • To support the adaptation and socialization of children of foreigners migrating from Ukraine,To cover the negative consequences of the conflict, to develop their language skills in English and to prepare them for admission to Czech schools and educational institutions 
  • Support for isolated children who have not attended kindergarten, elementary or secondary school due to late arrival in the Czech Republic or found vacancies in these institutions.
  • The project is simultaneously aimed at strengthening mental well-being and mental healthI am children aged 3 to 18 who have been granted temporary protection in the Czech Republic in accordance with Law 65/2022 SB.

Basic measures

  • development of language skills, especially spoken language, with the help of structured measures.
  • Support for adaptation, socialization and integration into society.
  • Educational programs in free time in blocks after 20 hours.
  • Individual approach to children in accordance with age and educational situation.

As a result of the project

  • A total of 288 adaptation groups were implemented, ie about 500 children, in & nbsp; parts of which were purposefully enhanced their social security, language skills and general mental stability.

Summer language courses for children of foreign migrants from Ukraine (2023)

In the summer of 2023, the Institute of Foreign Languages implemented a special program of summer language courses for Ukrainian children.

The overall benefit of the Ministry of Education projects:
The three programs of the Ministry of Education demonstrate the long-term and multilateral contribution of the International Court of Justice to support the integration of the population of Ukraine. In total, it was supported by more than 800 children at different stages and in different program formats.

Accreditation Ministry of Education -12224/2023 “Czech language for foreigners – for beginners, further course”, accreditation of the Ministry of Education-3489/2023 “Czech for foreigners – for advanced“.

Accreditation of the Ministry of Education gives the International Court the right to implement training programs in accordance with Article 108 of the Law. 435/2004 Coll. “On Employment” and the Decree. 176/2009 SB. 

The channels are used in the context of the chosen retraining of the Czech Republic’s Labor Bureau. Retraining courses (RK) in the CU are conducted according to the methodology approved by the Ministry of Education and conducted by their professional educational team. This approach increases the chances of graduates in the labor market.

Organization of the educational process:
Homogeneous groups (for example, English-speaking compared to representatives of wordsJanski languages) based on the language of diagnosis to make the learning process faster and more efficient. The course ends with a final exam; Successful graduates receive a retraining certificate (According to Decree 176/2009 Coll.).

Retraining courses at the Czech Republic Labor Bureau

In the period 2023-2025, 300 groups with a total of 4,300 participants (25% of English-speaking and 75% were organized within the framework of full-time retraining courses for ICJ teachers in Prague. verbal-speaking clients).) The purpose of the project: Elimination of barers for the full integration of foreigners in the labor market and in society, in particular, in language learning, counseling and retraining.

Activities in the South Moravian region:
As part of full-time pedagogical retraining courses in the South Moravian region, it was organized 25 groups with general participation 380 people (15% of English, 85% Slavic language).

Activities in the Vysochina region (Speka-nad-Sazova, Gavlichkov-Brod):
Implementation of full-time training programs with the same format and goals.

Graduate results:

Program “Support for primary (secondary) school for the integration of Ukrainian youth” – 2024/2025 academic year (III) point / 61/05/017251/2024

Funding: the municipality of the capital of Prague

Implementation period: September 2024 June 2025

A total of 170 students with temporary protection took part in the preparatory year, which were divided into six groups, with an average of 16 participants. Classes were held by Pyat days a week, always in blocks in the morning and afternoon, with a total allocation of 20 hours a week. Students who completed the course throughout the period received more than 680 hours.

Content and course of teaching

  • The main content: intensive teaching of English as a second language.
  • Additional subjects: basics of social sciences, history, geography, mathematics.
  • Assistance in adaptation: individual consultation and recommendations for better integration in the Czech environment.
    Each student successfully passed the input, intermediate and final testing. Successful participants (attending minutes 80%) received a certificate of completion of the preparatory course with results on the language level B2.

Extracurricular activities

The program was supplemented by a wide range of activities that support adaptation and orientation in the Czech environment:

  • Excursion (EUSPA CZ, NASA projects, museums, galleries, historicalslaughterhouses)

  • Seminars with JA Czech and HR expert Patrick Kilty (summary, LinkedIn, job interviews),

Funds received by the CU for the 2025/2026 academic year, aimed at supporting the Prague capital within the framework
Years support programs as preparation for the entrance exams in the middle and
higher education institution.

In total, 170 students with temporary protection took part in the preparatory year, who were divided into seven groups, with an average of 16 participants. Classes are held by Pyat days a week, always in blocks in the morning and afternoon, with a total allocation of 20 hours a week.. 

Students have the opportunity to attend classes for 10 months more than 680 hours.

The aim of the project is to give young people from Ukraine the opportunity to successfully continue their studies in the Czech Republic, acquire the necessary language skills and increase their chances of enrolling in secondary schools and universities in Prague.

The project is designed for young people aged 15-19, people from Ukraine who live in Prague and need to better prepare for education in the Czech education system.

enrolled in the course 175 students, who have executed at least 70% of the program. Lessons include business English, mathematics, and Czech and European culturology.

The program included talk clubs, Over 90 individual consultations, seminars on vocational guidance and psychosocial support. The program included excursions to companies such as Coca-Cola and Nestlé, as well as seminars with JA Czech.

The project significantly helped with the integration of Ukrainian schoolchildren into the Czech educational environment and society.

Czech University of Natural Sciences in Prague (Culs)

period: 2017-2020

Implementation of professional preparatory courses for foreigners, which included language training and professional propaedeutics. Courses lasting about 180 hours a year prepare students to study in Czech.
Results: Of the approximately 350 participants were Approximately 250 have been successfully accepted to study.

Institute of Chemical Technology in Prague (UCT)

period: 2021-2022

Intensive language training course (180 hours) to work at the university with an emphasis on academic language and professional terminology. Part of this were the basics of doctoral studies (physics, mathematics, chemistry).
Results: with approximately 120 applicants About 80 were admitted to Czech University.

Czech Technical University in Prague – Faculty of Information Technology (Čvut Fit)

period: 2022-2023

Language preparatory course (180 hours) with doctoral propaedeutics (mathematics, computer science, programming). The aim was to prepare for study at one of the oldest technical universities in Europe.
