Who can study for free at universities in the Czech Republic?
Did you know that you can study completely free at a quality European university? The Czech Republic offers foreign students a unique opportunity to obtain a university degree without paying tuition fees.
The only but crucial condition is studying in Czech. And that’s exactly what our one-year course will help you with, which will perfectly prepare you not only for the language exam, but also for the admission process itself and future studies.
Study in Czech language
All public universities in the Czech Republic offer free study if it takes place in Czech. The student’s nationality plays no role - the same conditions apply to everyone. Study programs in foreign languages (e.g. in English) are, on the contrary, fee-paying.
For admission to study, it is often necessary to pass a certified Czech exam (CCE) or a state language exam.
Successful admission process
Foreign students go through the same admission process as Czech students. Most universities require knowledge of Czech at B2 level according to the European Framework of Reference. Entrance exams include not only language tests, but also specialized subjects in Czech.
Formal requirements
To study in the Czech Republic, it is necessary to have officially recognized previous foreign education (so-called nostrification). We at ICJ will be happy to help you with that.
Students from countries outside the European Union must also obtain a long-term visa or residence permit for the purpose of study.

The course is designed for foreigners with a language level of A2 or higher who want to study at a Czech university. No other prerequisites are needed – all you need is the motivation to learn Czech
Classes take place in person in Prague and Brno, or in other cities depending on the number of applicants. We also offer a distance learning format with online support and lesson recordings for greater flexibility.
The price covers 600 hours of intensive instruction (200 hours for B1, 400 for B2), administrative fees, and access to extensive study materials. Nostrification (€300) and the B2 state exam (4,800 CZK) are an additional charge.
The entrance fee is paid upon signing the contract. The course fee is then split into three payments: 30,000 CZK upon signing the contract, 20,000 CZK at the end of the first semester, and 15,000 CZK in spring 2026. ATTENTION! – If you pay the entire course fee (65,000 CZK) upon signing the contract, the entrance fee will be waived.
You will gain access to comprehensive learning resources, including online platforms, exercises, and tools that support effective learning and Czech language practice.
No, the exam is not included in the course price. However, you can take it directly with us for a fee of 4,800 CZK, provided you meet the attendance and progress requirements during the course.
In addition to teaching, we provide assistance with the nostrification of foreign education (€300, including translations), academic and career counseling, and involvement in ICJ community activities for easier integration.
