Description
About the Program and the Instructor
In this program, children become real media creators! They will learn how television shows are made, how to ask questions like reporters, and experience what it’s like to be both in front of and behind the camera. The goal is for children to learn to think critically about what they see on the internet and TV, while also trying to tell their own stories through video. During the week, teams will create their own short film, which they will present at a big film festival at the end.
The program will be led by Zuzana Šimečková, an experienced screenwriter and creative producer with extensive experience at Czech Television. Zuzana is behind popular children’s shows like “Wifina,” “Jogínci,” and “Plné hnízdo.” Her passion for storytelling and extensive experience in creating content for children ensure that the young media explorers will have a week full of professional guidance, creativity, and fun.

•Monday: What are media?
We will get to know each other and explore the world of media through games and quizzes. We will learn the difference between entertaining and serious content, and teams will take on roles such as reporter, director, or cameraman.
•Tuesday: Tell a story!
We will focus on what makes a story interesting. We will go outside to find ideas for reports, learn how to ask the right questions, and create our own simple scripts in teams.
•Wednesday: Behind the camera
A day full of technology and practice. We will learn the basics of filming, try different camera angles and how they affect the story. We will make our own microphone and try our first interviews.
•Thursday: Let’s film!
Action! The main filming day awaits. Teams will shoot their scripts, take turns in roles, and use props. We will also record commentary for our videos.
