About the Program:
Become a comic book author! This intensive two-week course led by Marek Sečkář is perfect for anyone who wants to experience the complete process of creating their own comic in English—from the very first idea, through scriptwriting, character design, storyboarding, all the way to printing a self-published comic book. The course emphasizes language interaction, creativity, both digital and artistic skills, and team collaboration.
What participants can look forward to:

Diving into the history, styles, and rules of comics

Analyzing examples and transforming stories into comic format

Creating characters, scripts, and designing comic pages

Working with various media: pencil, ink, colors, digital editing

Producing an original group comic

Scanning, printing, and presenting the final work

A closing event with the launch of the self-published “zine” and a handover of the finished publication
Required Materials:
Sketchbook, pencil, eraser, black pen/fine liner, watercolors, brush/waterbrush, colored pencils/markers, scissors, glue, large-format paper (provided), technical equipment (provided by the organizers).

Daily organization:
9:00–17:00, arrival from 8:30, departure until 17:30

Price: 2,500 CZK / week / child.

The price includes: English lessons, all art and study materials, program activities, trips, coordinator supervision, and drinks.

The price does not include: Meals and public transport tickets.

Meals: Lunches can be purchased for 1,000 CZK / week (payment in cash on-site). We recommend packing two small snacks per day.

Daily schedule: The program runs from 9:00 to 17:00. Drop-off from 8:30 and pick-up until 17:30.

Language: The whole program is conducted in English. The level is adapted for children, with Czech and Ukrainian-speaking coordinators available if needed.
